About her

Cassandra Clare was born in Teheran, Iran then spent most of her time travelling with her family around the world.
She went to high school in Los Angeles and began writing stories for her classmates.
After university she worked for many different magazines then began writing her first young adult novel in 2004.
In 2007 the first book of The Mortal Instruments Series was released and the series ended in 2014.

Actual name is Judith Rumelt
The novel she wrote in high school, The Beautiful Cassandra, inspired her pen name

Style of writing

Cassandra clare doesn’t just use one writing style she said to an interviewer that “it depends on how the mood of the story goes”.
Her genre changes very quickly throughout her stories. They vary from romance, action, mystery, fantasy, and suspense.
